What we have been reading - 16th December 2022

Here’s what caught our eye recently:

52 things I learned in 2022: This is just a really cool article.

Teen vaping has eliminated teen smoking: This article is stolen from point 8) above. What a good news story!

Addiction to Speed:  This is a reminder that slow is good.

The Gifts We Give Our Kids:  This conundrum is something I think about often with our kids.

Baby's First Recession:  A fellow advisor gives some sage advice on how to prepare for a possible recession.

Be Wary of Imitating High-Status People Who Can Afford to Countersignal: I would probably say, be careful of imitating anyone. But if you do look up there is some great advice in this article.

How Often is the Market Down in Consecutive Years?:  The answer is, not very often. In fact, since 1950 it has only happened in the massive bear market of 1973/1974 and the bursting of the dotcom bubble in 2000-2002.

Don't Try to Get Rich Twice:  Getting rich and staying rich require two very different mindsets. Ben Carlson lays it out beautifully here. There are lots of ways to get rich but just a handful of ways to lose it all.

FINALLY:
The California Effect: Change 'California' for 'Cayman'.

ENJOY!
