What we have been reading - 5th March 2024

Here’s what caught our eye recently:

A few thoughts on spending money: We spend far too little time thinking about how we spend our money. Morgan Housel gets to the heart of it, as always.

Managing money is easy, managing wealth isn't:  On the difference between money and wealth.

Podcast: 50 Fires with Carl Richards:  This is an amazing conversation between Carl Richards and his wife. Together they explore how money has impacted their marriage and their individual relationships with money, going back to their childhoods. This is an incredibly raw and honest conversation that had me thinking deeply about money in my childhood and my marriage.

Magnificent Ignorance about the Magnificent Seven:  I am sure you have heard about the magnificent seven and perhaps the threat that they pose to the market today. Here's a good debunking of that.

Millionaires don't use Astrology, Billionaires do: Interesting article highlighting why you should always be careful about who you listen to.

These teenagers know more about investing than you do:  A Wall Street Journal article exploring savvy teenagers. This can only be a positive trend, I think.

The day I put $50,000 in a shoebox and handed it to a stranger:  This story is kind of ridiculous, but it had me gripped. The author is clearly intelligent and more sophisticated than most and shouldn't have fallen for the scam, but at the same time, I could see how she did. Worth a read.

All my thoughts after 40 hours in the Vision Pro:  The video in this article totally blew my mind.

FINALLY:

Don't Die. Do Pullups:  I have been doing CrossFit for ten years now and it took me a year before I could do my first pullup. But the sense of accomplishment was almost like nothing I had experienced before - I literally felt as though I had conquered the world. And now, every time I do them in the gym, I feel like a superhero.

ENJOY!
