Hi, I am Georgie.

I founded Liberty Wealth Partners, a fee-only fiduciary firm, with a simple mission to guide people to financial freedom and true peace of mind through a wealth management process that goes far beyond investments.

But let’s start at the beginning.

I grew up in the UK in a large family, and I will always be thankful that I was born into my family.  I was always a studier – I am not sure I was the smartest, but I was always prepared to put in the extra work.  Working hard served me well.  My education culminated in graduating from Oxford University with a First Class degree in Biology, and I went on to do a Masters in Animal Behaviour.

I loved science but after deciding that studying meerkats in the Sahara desert as a PhD wasn’t for me (I actually almost did this), I fell into the City.  My first firm was Rathbone Brothers where I started training as an investment manager.  I completed my CFA exams, and then made the bold move of relocating to the Cayman Islands with my husband Al.

Shortly after arriving in Cayman I started working at Overseas Asset Management, a boutique investment manager.  I spent seven years there co-managing the OAM European Value Fund, following a fundamental and value-orientated strategy.  I liked stock-picking - the research and analytical aspects of the job fed perfectly into my science background.  I realized though that I needed more ‘human-ness’ in my day-to-day work.  I wanted to build relationships and make an impact on people’s lives.

I spent the next four years working as an investment advisor and it was there that I discovered my love of everything money-related. More specifically, I started to understand what happens in the intersection between money and life.  I realised that money management today is about far more than just selecting investments.  It’s about having the expertise and ability to manage people’s behaviour and emotions.

I have found myself with a relentless curiosity around the markets, money and the role it plays in our lives.  I have done a full circle back to animal behaviour in appreciating that investing is mostly a psychological and behavioural endeavour.  It’s not the markets that get people into trouble, it’s people’s behaviour around the markets.

I can always be found listening to a podcast about money or the markets, or with my head in a book about money or the markets.

When not working in or on my business, I am at home with my husband Al and our three children or at the CrossFit gym.  On a Sunday you can find us out on our boat enjoying what it is that makes these islands so wonderful.
